Smeetesh Kakkad

Managing Partner

Smeetesh specialises in commercial litigation and international arbitration, with a particular emphasis on contract claims, joint venture, shareholder and partnership disputes, IP/IT and international trade. Smeetesh has acted in many complex disputes and much of his work has an international focus, involving many emerging markets such as Russia and the CIS, Central and Eastern Europe, and Asia.


Other areas of experience include libel, insolvency, property and construction disputes and general risk management issues.


Previously, Smeetesh spent thirteen years at the international law firm Salans (now Dentons), where he was a senior disputes lawyer and the Managing Partner of its London office.


He is ranked by both Chambers UK and Chambers Europe as a leading lawyer in dispute resolution.


Smeetesh is the co-author of Getting the Deal Through - International Arbitration (England & Wales chapter), 2009-2012.


Smeetesh qualified as a solicitor in 1997.
