Kaitlin is a foreign qualified lawyer from Australia with proven expertise in commercial litigation and dispute resolution.

Prior to joining Gresham Legal, Kaitlin worked in a leading litigation team recognised by the Legal 500 Asia Pacific. Her experience includes representing financial institutions, commercial organisations, state organs and high net worth individuals, as both claimant and defendant, in a wide range of disputes. These have involved fraud claims, shareholder disputes, breach of director duties, breach of contract, contraventions of companies legislation, professional negligence claims, equity and real property disputes, and regulatory investigations.

Kaitlin’s representative experience includes:

  • Acting for a fintech company involved in a high value shareholder dispute with a number of institutional banks and other private equity investors, which engages allegations of breach of duty, breach of contract and undeclared conflicts of interest.

  • Acting for an institutional fund management business in relation to high value fraud claims brought in the English Commercial Court.

  • Successfully representing an established company in appellate proceedings against the State involving findings of illegality on behalf of the actions of a Government minister.

  • Defending a state organ in the Federal Court of Australia against complex and high value claims concerning breach of contract, misleading representations and estoppel.

  • Successfully settled protracted and complex negotiations on behalf of an Australian company and its China-based director concerning a dispute in the Federal Court of Australia relating to the proceeds of sale following a mortgagee power of sale, including competing equities and bankruptcy claims.

  • Defending a former director of an publicly listed company in relation to allegations of breach of duties, including a counterclaim seeking equitable contribution from co-directors, and subsequently an appeal to the NSW Court of Appeal.

  • Prosecuting professional negligence claims on behalf of two companies in the Supreme Court of NSW against their respective former legal advisors and barristers, concerning allegations of negligent legal advice.

  • Defending a company with respect to allegations of breach of vendor warranties under a share sale agreement, including complex tax claims and advising with respect to potential counterclaims against the client’s former legal and financial advisors.

  • Represented three state bodies in separate Public Inquiries conducted by the NSW Independent Commission Against Corruption.

  • Prosecuting claims on behalf of two companies and their common directors in the Supreme Court of NSW for breach of contract, misleading and deceptive conduct and breach of director duties.
