Adam is a talented foreign qualified lawyer (New Zealand) with significant experience in complex commercial litigation and arbitration.
Adam has substantial expertise in cross-border disputes, international sanctions, high value trust disputes, international arbitration (ICC, LCIA, LMAA and ad hoc), complex contract claims and financial services litigation. He has acted for state and government entities, large corporates and high-net-worth individuals and families.
Prior to joining Gresham in October 2024, Adam was a Senior Lawyer in the litigation and contentious regulatory team of a major UK-based financial institution, where he specialised in complex litigation, internal investigations and economic crime matters. Before that, Adam was a barrister and solicitor at a leading specialist litigation firm in New Zealand, where he appeared in Courts and arbitration at all levels.

Acting for Defendants in in the Vneshprombank LLC v Bedzhamov suite of proceedings following the collapse of a Russian bank leading to alleged losses of circa £2 billion. This ongoing matter has included successfully securing the setting aside of service of a claim form overseas on grounds that shares in a BVI company do not fall within the territorial scope of a foreign bankruptcy recognition order (Kireeva v Clement Glory Ltd [2025] EWHC 980).

Acting for a subsidiary of a state-owned oil and gas company in an ICC arbitration with a value of US 215m arising out of a breach of contract and its unlawful treatment as a minority shareholder in a joint venture company.

Acting for a state-owned entity in an LMAA arbitration with a claimed quantum of over US 200m concerning alleged breaches of charterparty agreements and conversion claims relating to four petroleum tankers.

Acting for an Indian company in relation to its issue of US 120m of foreign currency convertible bonds in an ongoing dispute with the financial advisor on the bond issuance, and various alleged holders of bonds, arising out of the acquisition of a listed Delaware software company out of US Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
